Trackunit system update

Creation date: 21 October 2011

Trackunit fleet management system har been improved in a number of areas.

Google Maps is the new supplier of map data in the system with new features such as Street View for units on road and traffic information.

Improved map data:

  • Navigation and map data is now supplied by Google Maps. This means not only a better coverage, but the addition of real-time traffic information. This provides users with the best possible basis for routing units in areas with heavy traffic.

  • Google Street View makes it possible to get a street-level view (panoramic) of where a specific
unit is located/driving, when tracking this.
This amazing new feature is especially useful to users who wants to explore the places surrounding a unit, via the 360-degree street-level imagery. It’s almost like beeing there. (Where available in Google)

  • Route on map with different line colors highlights segments of a travelled route, based on activity types.

A segment of a travelled route is highlighted when input 1,3 or 4 becomes active along with the ignition.

It is now also possible to show routes for multiple units or groups, making it easy to view and compare historical data for several units at a time.

New report types: Idle time and Exception

  • The Idle time report provides a monthly overview of driving and stopping time for a unit, and based on this, a calculated daily total idle time. (Available to carriers only)

  • The Exception report can over a period of time show which units operate outside the "normal" working hours. The exception report also shows (graphically) how the unit’s operating hours are spread throughout the day. Contact your sales representative to activate this report on your account, if it is not already available.

Other improvements:

  • Unit info in left panel
Unit info in left panel Viewing unit info has been enhanced quite a lot. Unit info will now appear in the left hand side panel, rather than taking up space on the map. Single-click to view info and double-click to activate tracking on the unit. Unit info is split into appropriate sections, to give the user an easy overview. Moreover, a direct access to the service tab is now possible from the Unit info details.

  • Help Tab with user manual
The new Help tab features a localized (where available) user manual. The user manual explains and exemplifies the core features of the application, which in turn gives the user the best foundation to use it.
The user manual is easy to browse through due to the onscreen viewer, and can also be printed if this option is preferred.

  • Export Service Log
The Service Log for a specific unit can now be exported in either XLS or PDF format. This allows for further use and editing of the service log in other respects.

These improvements are available in the system from November 1st 2011
